Core reason for the Wam Baby Company-
to support charities in Kenya mainly families, as our kids are our future generation. The company works as a direct charity with a team of 5 local men who produce the sandals and 3 local women who do the beading work.
The shoe bags are made by 2 local women who lost their husbands through death and are working to support their children. We don’t believe in paying them salaries as we all know this means peanuts to the developed world but we pay them for each pair of sandals produced.
Supporting education and building homes
So far we have been able to send one of the children to Moi University in Nakuru to study Hospitality Management while our most current project is finishing a 2 bedroom house in Kilifi to house an extended family. We are happy to prove to our customers and stockists that by buying a pair of sandal from the Wam Baby company they are helping a good cause.
